St. Pankratius (Lucka)

St. Pancras

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Pankratius stands in the middle of the town of Lucka in the Altenburger Land district in Thuringia .

history

The church was mentioned in documents as early as 1396 and again in 1429.

During the great fire in 1637 the church was almost completely destroyed. Financial difficulties forced the church for the time being on the reconstruction of the tower to forgo what brought mockery and malice with it.

In 1891 the new church tower was inaugurated. With a height of 56 meters, it looks proudly into the country. Even the city shows the church building as a sight to visitors.
