The church

The Protestant village church of St. Petrus is located in the Dorna district of the independent city of Gera in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish of Pölzig, Dorna, Röpsen and Roschütz in the Gera parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

The church was built in the 13th century, which is suggested by two lanceolate-shaped, walled-up windows on the east side.

In the 16th century, a two-bay cross rib vault was added on strongly protruding rectangular wall pillars and semicircular corner pillars.

The font was built around 1600 . On the south side of the triumphal arch is the richly decorated pulpit . The construction of the basket followed in 1651 and the sound cover in 1681 .

In the 17th century, conversions were carried out in addition to the installation of the galleries , and further repairs and restorations in 1889.
