The St. Placiduskirche ( Rhaeto-Romanic Baselgia S. Placi ) is a church in Disentis in the Surselva in the Swiss canton of Graubünden . It stands on the eastern edge of the village by the torrent from Val Plaz.

At the alleged place of the martyrdom of St. Placidus of Disentis around 720, a chapel was built in the 9th century (804?), Which was destroyed by an avalanche in January 1458. It was rebuilt in the previous scope. In 1923 excavations revealed a Carolingian hall church with a semicircular apse . The new baroque building began in 1655; the old chapel was demolished. The church was consecrated on September 3, 1658. The architect was Domenico Barbieri from Roveredo in Misox . From 1990 to 1993 the church was restored.

Unlike the two previous buildings, the church is oriented longitudinally to the north so that its massive tower can act as an avalanche breaker. Paintings of the monastery saints Sigisbert von Disentis and Placidus are attached to the right and left of the entrance doors . Only the two side altars date from around 1655. The high altar dates from the second half of the 18th century, the pulpit from around 1800.

At the site of the graves of the two saints, the Disentis Monastery was built around 720 .
