St. Rupert (Gumattenkirchen)
The St. Rupert Church is the Roman Catholic village church of Gumattenkirchen , a district of the municipality of Mettenheim (Upper Bavaria).
history
The church was built in the 15th century in the Gothic style. The consecration of the choir with the altar took place on October 4, 1472 by the Chiemsee Bishop Bernhard von Kraiburg . In 1770 it was structurally altered and then regotified during the restoration in 1878.
description
The nave of the hall church is structured by three bays, the choir, closed on three octagonal sides, by two bays. To the west the tower of the church with a pointed roof and a vestibule on the ground floor. Another two vestibules are located on the north and south sides of the tower.
The sacristy was added later and the upper part of the tower was renewed.
