The Filialkirche St. Vinzenz is a Roman Catholic church in Weißbach an der Alpenstrasse , municipality of Schneizlreuth in the Berchtesgadener Land .

History and architecture

The church was built from 1949 to 1950 under pastor Johann Oberhauser according to plans by the Munich cathedral builder Georg Berlinger in the homeland security style using elements of the modern age . On July 30, 1950, the church was consecrated by Auxiliary Bishop Anton Scharnagl .

Architectural features of the church are the square church interior and the round church tower with the distinctive elongated onion helmet .

The frescoes inside, the Assumption of Mary, the miracle of wine at Cana, the multiplication of bread and fish and the patron saint of the skilled woodworker St. Vinzenz, were painted by the Karlstein painter Georg Gschwendner . The altar wall sculpture comes from the sculptor Leopold Hahn .
