State formation
The word state formation (or state formation ) can be understood to mean various aspects:
- The formation of an empire from existing small states or local rulers - mostly through conquest or pressure - with the examples of the Persian Empire , Roman Empire , Franconian Empire , Aztec Empire , Ottoman Empire , German Empire .
- The emergence of larger nation states or federations “from within” - e.g. B. Australia , USA , France .
- The connection of smaller countries to a larger one through treaties , gentle force or economic processes - e.g. B. Russia , Nigeria .
- The disintegration of large states into viable smaller ones - e.g. B. Czechoslovakia , Romania (after World War I).
In the fauna
- The formation of states of some animal species, especially among insects and, for example, the gray mullet (see also Hymenoptera state ).
