The State University of the Arctic Murmansk ( Russian Мурманский арктический государственный университет Murmanski arktitscheski gossudarstwenny uniwersitet , English Murmansk Arctic State University ) is a university in Murmansk ( Russia ).
history
In 1939 the Murmansk Teachers' Institute ( Russian Мурманский учительский институт. МУИ Murmanski uchitelski institut ) was founded. In 1956 this was converted into a pedagogical college and was called the State Pedagogical Institute Murmansk ( Russian Мурманский государственный педагогический институт Murmanski gossudarstwenny pedagogitscheski institut ). It was not until 2002 that it received the status of a university and was named State Pedagogical University of Murmansk ( Russian Мурманский государственный педагогический университет. МГПУ Murmanski gossudarstwenny unagogitscheskiy ). In 2010, the institution was renamed Murmansk State Humanities University ( Russian Мурманский государственный гуманитарный университет - МГГУ Murmanski gossudarstwenny gumanitarny ). Since October 2015 the institution has been called the State University of the Arctic Murmansk .
