The stabo Elektronik GmbH is a German company in the wireless technology . The focus of the product range is in the range CB radio , along with equipment are short-range radio and mobile radio and home security products sold. In the sixties, stabo also produced experimental kits with a focus on radio and low frequency.
history
The company was founded in 1962 by Hans Kolbe & Co. ( Dr. hc Johannes Kolbe ) and is based in Hildesheim . In 1988, stabo became known to the general public in Germany with the spread of the ST930, the first cordless telephone. It was approved by the Deutsche Bundespost . At the beginning of 1997, Stabo was taken over by the French CB radio manufacturer Groupe President Electronics .
In the following year, a 49 percent stake in the bankrupt Albrecht Elektronik company was acquired. In 1999, Stabo acquired a stake in Brüggemann + Schönberger, a distributor of CB radio products. In 2001 Albrecht Elektronik bought back its shares due to "fundamental differences".
Awards
The trade magazine CB-funk called on its readers to vote for the so-called CB-funk Oscar every year . Stabo radios received three awards between 1992 and 1999. Two awards went to devices from the parent company President, one to Albrecht while he was President.
