The Stade Alfred Marie-Jeanne is a sports stadium in the French overseas territory of Martinique . It is located in the municipality of Rivière-Pilote and is mainly used for football matches and athletics competitions. There is space for 3,000 spectators on consistently covered seats. It is the fourth largest stadium on the Antilles island of Martiniques after the Pierre Aliker , Georges Gratiant and Louis-Achille stadiums .

history

The stadium was officially inaugurated on December 15, 2001 with an international athletics meeting under the name Stade En Camée . From November 27 to December 1, 2010, group matches for the final round of the 2010 Caribbean Football Championship were held here. On August 6, 2011, the stadium was renamed “Stade Alfred Marie-Jeanne”. Alfred Marie-Jeanne is a politician from the Mouvement indépendantiste martiniquais (MIM), born in Rivière-Pilote in 1936 , who was Mayor of Rivière-Pilote from 1971-2000, President of the Regional Council of Martinique from 1998-2010 and is now a member of the French National Assembly .
