The Stade de Kégué is a multi-purpose stadium in the Togolese capital Lomé . It is mainly used for soccer games, but also has athletics facilities . The stadium opened in 2000 can seat 30,000 spectators.
From March 10th to 25th, 2007, the U-17 African Football Championship took place in Togo. 14 of the 16 games were played at the Stade de Kégué.
On October 19, 2007, riots broke out in the Stade de Kégué during the qualifying game for the 2008 African Cup of Nations between Togo and Mali , in which two players and several Malian supporters were injured. As a result, the Confédération Africaine de Football blocked the place for about two years.
The stadium was designed by the Chinese architect Yang Zhou. After a first stay in Lomé in 1995, the construction plans were ready two years later.
