The Schützenmatte stadium is a sports stadium with an athletics facility in the Bachletten district in Basel . It is the home stadium of BSC Old Boys Basel and, together with the grass and tennis courts, forms the western part of the Schützenmatte sports area . The audience capacity is around 8,000 (6,000 standing and 2,000 seats), but can now be increased to up to 12,000 people.
During the new construction of St. Jakob-Park (1998-2001) the Schützenmatte was the temporary home stadium of FC Basel .
