The Tokyo 3 city motorway, Shibuya Line ( Japanese 首都 高速 3 号 渋 谷 線 , shuto kōsoku 3-gō Shibuya-sen , English Shuto Expressway Route 3 ) is an almost 12 km long motorway route in the east of the Japanese prefecture of Tokyo . The route of the Tokyo city motorway runs from the southern center of the capital Tokyo , where it is connected to the inner ring , to the southwest: It starts in the Minato district and then runs through the Shibuya , Meguro and Setagaya districts . After the Yōga junction, it goes over to the Tōmei motorway at the Tōkyō Interchange . From the beginning in Roppongi to the Shibuya district it runs over the Roppongi-dōri, then almost to the end over the Tamagawa-dōri (national road 246).

The first section was completed in 1964 in the Shibuya district between a provisional junction in Shibuya 4-chōme and the Shibuya junction in Shinsenchō / Nampeidaichō. In 1967 the section was opened up to Tanimachi Junction, the connection to the inner ring, which was closed in the same year. The western part to Yōga, which connected the city motorway network with the Tōmei motorway, was opened to traffic in 1971. In 2010, the Ōhashi Junction opened in Ōhashi in the Meguro district, it connects the middle ring currently under construction , which in this area mostly runs underground under the Yamate-dōri.

In Yōga in the Setagaya district, around 98,000 vehicles used the highway every day in 2005.
