The Velbert City Library , founded in 1905, is a public library in Velbert . It provides over 190,000 visitors with information every year. This makes it one of the most popular public facilities in Velbert. The central library Velbert Mitte has been in the pedestrian zone, Friedrichstrasse 115–117, for a transitional period since January 2020. There are branches in the districts of Neviges and Langenberg.

The city library ensures the media supply of Velbert citizens for education and training, information and leisure activities.
