Kolašin City Hall (2009)

The Kolašin City Hall ( Serbo-Croatian Колашин скупштине општине ) is a building in the center of Kolašin in Montenegro . It was built from 1971 to 1975 according to the plans of the Yugoslav architect Marko Mušič . In addition to its function as a public event space with a hall, the city hall also served as a memorial building ( Serbo-Croatian Spomen dom ) for the formation of the first National Antifascist Council for the liberation of Montenegro and Boka in 1943.

The building was officially opened on November 15, 1975. It is unique in that it is the only one of Yugoslavia's many monumental monuments that is also a fully functional public building. The building is an outstanding testimony to Yugoslav architecture and one of the most important structures of the second half of the 20th century in Montenegro.

The condition of the building has deteriorated dramatically since the 1990s. At the end of the 2000s it was even planned to demolish the building and replace it with a new building. However, this plan failed due to the lack of financial viability.

In 2014 the building was shown in the exhibition Treasures in Disguise at the 14th Venice Architecture Biennale . An improvement in the condition has not yet been achieved.
