Der Stadtverkehr is a specialist magazine on topics of local public transport with ten issues per year, including two double issues . It has been published by EK-Verlag , Freiburg , since 1986 . The reporting is global, but the focus is on Europe. Topics are developments in the vehicle sector, operational management, technologies, planning projects and reporting on trade fairs and conferences. Experts in transport companies and industry, transport scientists, but also interested parties from outside the profession are seen as the target group. A high percentage of the circulation goes to long-term subscribers. Distribution at home and abroad: around 75 percent in Germany, around 12.5 percent in Austria and Switzerland, around six percent in the Benelux countries and around three percent in Scandinavia.

The Eisenbahn-Kurier and the Modellbahn-Kurier are also published by the same publisher .

The trade journal was published from 1956 for 30 years until the 11/12 1985 issue under the title Der Stadtverkehr , most recently by the Werner Stock publishing house in Bielefeld. Stock was also the founder and editor of this magazine. This makes it one of the oldest specialist journals for local public transport in German-speaking countries.
