The EK-Verlag GmbH is a German publisher with publications on current and historical railway and locomotive engineering and railway and transport history, model railways , urban transport and the railway industry , based in Freiburg . history
The company goes back to a group of railway enthusiasts in Wuppertal, including the railway and locomotive photographer Carl Bellingrodt . This group once developed a newsletter called the Eisenbahn-Kurier , which focused on the federal railway steam locomotives.
The setting which is also in Wuppertal appearing Vdef messages was Eisenbahn-Kurier official organ of the Association of Railway Friends (Vdef). Bellingrodt bequeathed his picture archive to the Eisenbahn-Kurier , who since then has regularly published photos from the collection.
