Stage rider

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Stage Rider or Technical Rider (mostly just TecRider or TechRider) is a document that describes the technical requirements of an artist for his performances. Most of these are musicians and bands , which make planning easier for the organizer and the sound and lighting technicians in the run-up to an event .

Content

A stage rider often contains a stage allocation plan ( illustration ) with information on the positioning of the equipment such as instruments , amplifiers and monitors , required sockets , dimensions, a list of the required effects devices , a description of the mixing consoles for light and sound, a channel allocation plan, number and type of Headlights (with information about color and positioning) and information about the maximum size of the event this stage rider is intended for.

Furthermore, a rider often contains information about the needs of the artists and crew behind the stage . These include, among other things, requirements for the accommodation of the artists (type, equipment, etc.), information about the number, type and frequency of meals for the artist and crew, and often an exact list of drinks.

context

Often the stage rider is part or extension of the contract that is concluded between the artist and the organizer. Missing or defective material can therefore constitute a breach of contract and, in the worst case, lead to the event being canceled (this also includes requests for drinks and food).
