Mechanical soil compaction in road construction

Tamping is a method of compacting soil or subsoil in gardening , landscaping and road construction , and on the other hand a method of crushing materials that are temperature-sensitive and therefore not suitable for grinding in grinders.

The hand rams are simple rammers for compaction in the construction sector . Larger and heavier devices are operated mechanically.

Typical household mortars for chopping grains, for example spices, whereby a rubbing component can be added to the mortar. There are also potato masher for pureeing potatoes.

Larger pounders are used for crushing harder and coarser material, such as in bone mills .
