Standard regulations for uniform data exchange systems

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The abbreviation SEDAS stands for standard regulations for a uniform data exchange system .

This standard, published in 1977, applies to electronic data exchange . It relates to the exchange of invoice data, and later also order data, between trade and industry in the consumer goods industry.

SEDAS was developed by the Central Office for Coorganization (CCG), which is now called GS1 Germany . On this basis and the then already existing EAN code , the SEDAS data service was developed and put into operation by the GEIS company for the CCG in 1984 . In general, the successor to SEDAS is the EANCOM standard (a subset of EDIFACT ), which is also supported by GS1 Germany.
