Standenhorn
The Standenhorn is a steep stretch of shore of Lake Walen near Filzbach .
The Standenhorn is crossed by two tunnels:
- One lane of the A3 motorway leads through what is now a 230 meter long tunnel. This is an originally 258 meter long former railway tunnel on the Ziegelbrücke – Sargans railway line , which was built in 1859. Today the railway runs through the newer and several times longer Kerenzberg tunnel .
- A 235 meter long tunnel is part of the lakes route as a cycle path and also serves as a rescue tunnel for the Kerenzerberg tunnel .
