Stanimir Iltschew

Stanimir Jankow Iltschew ( Bulgarian Станимир Янков Илчев ; born July 31, 1953 in Burgas , Bulgaria ) is a Bulgarian politician and was a member of the European Parliament for the National Movement Simeon the Second .

Iltschew studied at the University of St. Kliment Ochridski in Sofia . There he received his degree in television journalism in 1971. From 1979 to 1980 he was an editor at the Bulgarian state television, before he was editor of the magazine Krile (1980-1985) and then editor and editor-in-chief of the magazine Mladesch (1985-1990).

In the course of Bulgaria's accession to the European Union he belonged since 1 January 2007 the European Parliament of. There he was a member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe . After the Bulgarian European Parliament elections in May 2007, Iltschew resigned from the European Parliament on June 5, 2007. Since the European elections in 2009 , he has been a member of parliament again to replace Meglena Kunewa .

Iltschew is a member of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs and the delegation for relations with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo. He is a deputy in the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and in the delegation in the EU-Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia Joint Parliamentary Committee.
