Stankawa ( Belarusian Станькава ), also Stankowo ( Russian Станьково ), is a small Belarusian town in Dzjarschynsk Rajon in Minskaja Woblasz .

Stankawa was first mentioned in a document in the 15th century. In 1858 the Orthodox Church was built; At the same time, the castle residence of Count Czapski was built, which has been preserved to this day. During the Second World War, Stankawa, like other villages in the vicinity of Minsk, was the scene of guerrilla fighting between Soviet partisans and German occupation forces. The most famous local partisan, Marat Kasej, died fighting in 1944 at the age of only 14 and was posthumously honored as a Hero of the Soviet Union. After the end of the war, the reconstruction took place in the Stalinist style.

On June 5, 2008, President Aljaksandr Lukashenka signed a decree to build an ecotourism center in Stankawa. Under the national tourism development program, 1.5 million rubles will be made available. The area will consist of four areas and, in addition to several museums, zoological gardens and sports facilities, will also house exhibits from the National World War Museum in Minsk. The construction work started in February 2009; the opening of the center is planned for 2011.
