Stamping and forming mechanic

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The punching and forming mechanic is a state-recognized training occupation according to the German Vocational Training Act , which has existed since 2013.

History of origin

In a study initiated by Gesamtmetall on the future qualification requirements in the metal sector in 2008, two scenarios were developed to cover a demand in stamping and forming technology formulated by industry. One solution was to add a codified additional qualification to the existing two-year apprenticeship as machine and plant operator . Another solution was to create a new, three-year training occupation. An expertise from the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BiBB) from 2009 showed a consensus for a new training occupation that should be structured as a single occupation .

Duration of training and structure

The training period to become a punching and forming mechanic is three years. The training takes place at the training company and vocational school .
