Star Trek: New Frontier

Star Trek: New Frontier is an American science fiction novel series that has been published since 1997 and is also the first Star Trek series that was not made as a television series. The plot begins in 2373, about three years after the plot of the television series Starship Enterprise - The Next Century ends . The focus is on the crew of the Starfleet spaceship USS Excalibur, which mainly operates in the previously unexplored Sector 221-G of the Milky Way . The main author of the novel series is Peter David . By 2011 the US publisher Pocket Books had published 20 novels and an anthology in the series , followed by an e-book trilogy in 2015 . Heyne Verlag began to publish German translations in 1999 under the series title Star Trek: The New Frontier , but broke off again in 2002 and after six volumes with eight novels. The series has been published in German under the original American title since 2011 by the Cross Cult publisher , which partly used new German titles for the first eight novels.

The series has already been adapted for comics.
