Star Trek timelines

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article gives an overview of the chronology of the Star Trek television series and cinema films, mainly related to the time of the action, but also to the time of creation.

Sidereal time

Except in Star Trek: Enterprise data is in the so-called normally in all Star Trek series Stardate ( star date specified). It is a time calculation that cannot be clearly mapped to the Gregorian calendar , which was originally introduced by the creators of Star Trek in order to be able to describe events in a distant future without having to pin down the individual episodes to specific dates. Initially, there were no guidelines for this "sidereal time"; the authors of the series were free to choose any combination of numbers. Although the "Stardate" from Starship Enterprise - The Next Century is structured more systematically, it remained inconsistent. This fictitious “sidereal time” should not be confused with the astronomical time measure, sidereal time . The following overview is based on the commonly used assignment of Star Trek times to the Gregorian calendar.

For each television series, the table lists the seasons (1–7, P = separate pilot film) and the films belonging to the series (Roman numerals) for the specified periods of action and creation. The years that belong to the Kelvin timeline created in the eleventh movie are marked in color in the Action Time column .
