Star Trek: Short Treks is an American science fiction - television series , in the fictional Star Trek - universe plays. The series is conceived as an anthology series and consists of short film- length episodes . The episodes take up people or places from the series Star Trek: Discovery , Spaceship Enterprise and Star Trek: Picard . Most of the episodes are real- life episodes, two are animated.
Production and publication
From October 2018 to January 2019, CBS All Access released the first four episodes of the Short Treks miniseries . Each episode is about 15 minutes long and highlights a character from Discovery . Like Star Trek: Discovery , the Short Treks are also available in German on Netflix, but do not have their own entry, but are listed under “Trailer and more” in the Discovery series entry.
After the second season of Discovery from October 2019 to January 2020, six more Short Treks were released, two of them animated. Three episodes play (at least partially) on the Enterprise ; Rebecca Romijn , Ethan Peck and Anson Mount resume their roles. The last Short Trek is with Patrick Stewart , preparing the Star Trek: Picard series .
The DVD or Blu-ray for the second season of Star Trek: Discovery also includes the two episodes Runaway and The Brightest Star .
A DVD or Blu-ray with the first nine episodes is announced for June 2020.
Cast and dubbing
Michelle Yeoh , Doug Jones , Mary Wiseman , Rainn Wilson , Rebecca Romijn , Ethan Peck and Anson Mount resumed their roles from Star Trek: Discovery . Annabelle Wallis and Aldis Hodge star in Calypso , Rosa Salazar and H. Jon Benjamin in The Trouble with Edward .
The German synchronization arises after dialogue books of Tobias Neumann and the dialogue director Oliver field by the synchronous company Arena synchronous in Berlin .
