Ethan Gregory Peck (born March 2, 1986 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actor . He is best known for his role as Patrick Verona on the TV series 10 Things I Hate About You .

life and career

Ethan Peck was in March 1986 in Los Angeles in the US state of California , the son of documentary filmmaker and actor Stephen Peck and artist born Francine Matarazzo. He is the grandson of actor Gregory Peck and his first wife, Finn Greta Kukkonen. His sister works as a writer and mainly writes fantasy books. In North Hollywood he attended private school and learned to play the cello. After high school he attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University , which he left after three years to devote himself to his acting career.

Peck had his first role in 1995 at the age of nine in an episode of the short-lived television series Charlie Grace - The Snoop . This was followed in the movie Kalifornia Nightmare, the role of Josh Coleman , the son of Jack, who was played by Jimmy Smits . In 1999 he made a guest appearance on the Drew Carey Show . He was then hired for the role of Sailor in the film Adopt a Sailor , for which he received an award for Best Actor at the Sonoma Valley Film Festival in 2009 . In November 2008, he was cast as Patrick Verona in the ABC Family - Youth Series 10 things I hate about you cast based on the eponymous film based from the year 1999th He played this role in all 20 episodes produced until the series was discontinued. In 2010 he played the Sean in Twelve and Andre in Jon Turteltaub fantasy - adventure film The Sorcerer's Apprentice .
