Shambhala in PortAventura ( Salou , Catalonia , Spain ) is a steel roller coaster of the Hyper Coaster model by the manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard , which was opened on May 12, 2012. With a height of 76 m, it was the highest roller coaster in Europe until the opening of the 112 m high Red Force in April 2017. The name of the railway was based on the Kingdom of Shambhala .
Awards
In 2013, the park and the manufacturer B&M were awarded the “FKF Award 2012” novelty prize by the Freundeskreis Kirmes und Freizeitparks e. V. excellent.
In 2012, the park received the “Worldofparks Award 2012” from the leisure portal Worldofparks.eu in the category “Best innovation in a European theme park” for the roller coaster .
