Doug Jones (born May 24, 1960 in Indianapolis , Indiana ) is an American actor and contortionist .

Live and act

Jones was born in Indianapolis, the youngest of four children. He attended Bishop Chatard High School and graduated from Ball State University .

As a contortionist (" contortionist "), Jones has a knack for moving about in unusual ways, often casting him in many non-human roles, particularly in fantasy films . He is often no longer recognizable in these roles under the mask . He appeared several times in films by director Guillermo del Toro . He took over the role of Abe Sapien in the Hellboy -Verfilmungen, the title character played Pan in Pan's Labyrinth , the "Cochise" aliens in by Steven Spielberg -produced series Falling Skies and worked as a creature in Shape of Water - The whisper of water to see where he starred alongside Sally Hawkins . In 2007 he also played the Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and in the TV series Star Trek: Discovery he has played the role of the Kelpian Saru since 2017 .
