Yadira Guevara-Prip

Yadira Helena Guevara-Prip (born May 22, 1995 in Manhattan , according to her own statements, Miami ) is an American actress , singer and playwright. In the science fiction series Star Trek: Discovery she plays the role of the queen of the planet Xahea, Me Hani Ika Hali Ka Po, in the second season and in the " Short Trek " runaway .

life and career

Yadira Guevara Prip attended Purchase College at the State University of New York in the subjects of drama and script and graduated from the Professional Performing Arts School in New York City . In 2011 she attended the Perry Mansfield Performing Arts School and Summer Camp .

She made her off-Broadway debut in 2013 at New York's Rattlestick Theater in the role of Jessica in the play Basilica by Mando Alvarado. Prip has also played in productions for the Atlantic Theater Company, the Cherry Lane Theater and the INTAR Theater. In 2016 she played the role of Lala in the world premiere of Pia Scala-Zankel's play Street Children , which was featured in the New York Times .

Prip made her television debut in 2016 in the Amazon video series Mad Dogs . As a series actress she appeared in the series Supernatural in the role of Kaia Nieves ; after a pilot was planned with a leading role for the planned spin-off Wayward Sisters , which was not implemented.

From 2018 she played in the CBS television series Star Trek: Discovery and in Star Trek: Short Treks the role of the young, highly intelligent and " nerdy " Queen Me Hani Ika Hali Ka Po of the planet Xahea, who plays a not unimportant role in the season finale.

Her first role as a regular cast was in See - Realm of the Blind .
