Starpath was the name of a US computer company originally founded in June 1981 by Alan Bayley, Robert Brown and Craig Nelson under the name Arcadia Corporation. Shortly after it was founded, however, the company had to change its name to Starpath for licensing reasons.
Starpath was known for the development and marketing of Starpath Supercharger in 1982. This was an extension of the Atari 2600 - video game system's. The Supercharger, which was plugged into the Atari 2600 as a plug- in module , expanded the memory so that more complex games with more extensive graphics could be played on the game console. The corresponding games were also developed by Starpath.
However, this expansion could not gain sufficient acceptance with the customers, so that the Supercharger was not developed further and Starpath merged with the Epyx company in 1983 .
