Starsem

Starsem , founded in 1996, markets satellite launches with the Russian Soyuz launch vehicle from the Baikonur spaceport and, since 2008, from the European spaceport in Kourou . The company is based in Évry near Paris .

The French-dominated companies Arianespace (15%) and ArianeGroup (35%), Russia's space agency Roskosmos (25%) and the manufacturer of the rocket, RKZ Progress (25%), are involved in Starsem .

In 1999 Starsem carried, among other things, 24 Globalstar satellites into space, which corresponded to a turnover of one billion francs .
