Start German 1

Start Deutsch 1 is a language test to determine the knowledge of German among adults, which is carried out jointly by the Goethe-Institut (GI) and telc GmbH . It is carried out and evaluated worldwide according to uniform standards. With the successfully passed Start Deutsch 1 exam, learners document that they have mastered the skills of level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference .

Start Deutsch 1 consists of an approximately one-hour written individual examination with the examination parts listening comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression and an oral group examination of around 15 minutes.

Start German 2

Start Deutsch 2 is also a language test in which the competencies of level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference are tested. The same rules apply to them as to Start Deutsch 1.
