In Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek AIN 27 is the ancient Egyptian statue of the top asset manager Gebu. The statue belongs to the 13th Dynasty. It is an important work of art from this dynasty, dating from around 1750 BC. Dated. The statue is 93 cm high and made of granite. It was bought by the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek Museum in 1890 and probably comes from the Amun temple in Karnak . Except for the missing nose, the work is in good condition.

Gebu is shown sitting on the floor. He wears a wig or a headdress. His face is marked with age. He is wearing a long robe that is knotted under his chest. Both of his hands are open on his apron. There is also an inscription with a sacrificial formula that names the god Amun . There is another inscription on the base of the statue, according to which it is a gift from the king, but it is not mentioned by name.

Gebu has only been handed down historically based on this statue. He bears the titles of "royal sealer" and "senior asset manager".

Works mainly from the late 12th and 13th dynasties no longer show a young official, but dignitaries in advanced age, which were probably intended to emphasize wisdom and authority. These works are influenced by the royal sculpture, which no longer shows the young, but a ruler in advanced age. It is not a portrait in the modern sense.

For stylistic considerations, the work can be dated to the early 13th dynasty. The statue belongs to a group of sculptures that date from this period and copy the naturalism of the late 12th Dynasty, but appear mannered.
