Statue menhir of Luzzipeu

The statue menhir of Luzzipeu (also called the statue menhir of Urtacciu) is in the office of the Chapelle Santa Ristituta (Sainte Restitude), near the road D 151, about one and a half kilometers northeast of Calenzana near Montegrosso in the Haute-Corse department on the French Mediterranean island of Corsica .

The Neolithic phases in Corsica before the start of the Torre culture

The faceless menhir is one of 16 statue menhirs in the department. Luzzipeu is a place full of archaeological mysteries. In the nearby Teghja di Linu II, an extensive site, the well-preserved fragment of another statue menhir was found in 1999. The key to the chapel can be obtained in the village. But the office where the statue menhir stands is locked so that he can only be seen through the window.
