Dust firing

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The pulverized coal firing is a firing system , in which ground solid fuel is injected by a pneumatic transport into the combustion chamber. Wood , hard coal and lignite , but also animal meal or petroleum coke are used as fuel . Dust firings are used in thermal power stations and in thermal process engineering (e.g. cement works ).

Since the amount of fuel in the combustion chamber is very small compared to grate firing , the output can be adjusted quickly.

Wood dust firing

Wood dust is mostly available as a waste product from wood processing and is often burned directly in the manufacturing plants. Lined combustion chambers are mostly used to achieve good burnout. The flue gas and the ash are passed through a waste heat boiler in the form of a shell boiler or water tube boiler and then passed through a filter to separate the ash. The heat output depends on the supply of wood dust and the needs of the wood processing company and is usually in the range from 2 to 75 MW.

Pulverized coal furnaces

The pulverized coal combustion is mostly used in large power plants. The fuel is processed in the power plant using coal mills.
