The Sidi Saïd Maâchou dam ( French Barrage Sidi Saïd Maâchou ) is a dam on the Oum er-Rbia river in Morocco . It is located in the Settat Province , 46 kilometers downstream from the Daourat Dam. At this point the river makes a triple loop; here there is a gradient of 13 meters over a length of 1500 meters, which can be used to generate electricity through the dam. The river power plant generates an average of 55 million kWh / year. The facility was built between 1925 and 1929, making it the oldest in the country. Since 1952, the reservoir with its 1 million cubic meters storage volume has also been used as a raw water reservoir for the drinking water supply of Casablanca .
