Congestion factor

Under the stowage factor , and congestion coefficient or Stowage Factor , is understood in the logistics and in particular the maritime the ratio between that of the charge occupied space and its mass .

The stowage factor depends on the properties of the cargo, i.e. the density and , in the case of bulk goods, also the grain size . The common unit of measurement for the stowage factor is m³ / t.
