history

The church, consecrated to the local Breton saint Thumette, was built in the 16th century in the Flamboyant Gothic style and has the bell gable typical of the region over the west facade. In the course of the French Revolution, the church was abandoned and a ruin. The bell gable collapsed in 1808.

By an episcopal order of March 8, 1949, Ste-Thumette was again prepared for worship and finally rededicated on June 3, 1951.
