Steenbrugge is a Belgian beer brand . The traditionally produced Steenbrugge is a top-fermented abbey beer . This beer , which was originally produced in-house, served as a table beer for the Benedictine monks of St. Peters Abbey in Steenbrugge, which is now part of the city of Bruges . In addition to the original Steenbrugge Dubbel Bruin , Steenbrugge Tripel , Steenbrugge Blond , Steenbrugge Wit and Steenbrugge Abdij Bock are now available as further variants. A traditional blend of herbs, the grut , is responsible for the characteristic taste .

The label of the Steenbrugge beers shows the image of Saint Arnulf von Soissons , the patron saint of brewers and founder of the St. Peters Abbey of Oudenburg and Steenbrugge. The Steenbrugge brand has been part of the Belgian Palm Breweries brewery since 2003 . Production has been in Steenhuffel since 2004 .
