Miro Oman (born January 11, 1936 in Tržič ; † July 15, 2012 there ) was a Slovenian ski jumper and ski jumping trainer.

Career

Oman began his active career with the start for Yugoslavia in the Four Hills Tournament 1959/60 . He achieved his best result with 19th place on the Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze in Bischofshofen . In the overall ranking he landed on 26th place overall.

In the Four Hills Tournament 1960/61 , Oman could not build on these performances and reached 36th place overall. Even at the Four Hills Tournament 1961/62 he did not get past 39th place in the overall ranking.

A little later, Oman started at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane in 1962 . From the normal hill he reached the 40th place with jumps on 60.5 and 66 meters. He jumped from the large hill to 89.5 and 90.5 meters and thus reached rank 35.

In his most successful Four Hills Tournament in 1962/63 , Oman achieved his best individual result of his career with 15th place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . He was also able to achieve good results in the other competitions and finished the tour in 23rd place overall.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1964 , Oman jumped from the normal hill to 47th place, before reaching 36th place on the large hill. After Oman subsequently failed to achieve any great success in the Four Hills Tournament 1964/65 and the Four Hills Tournament 1965/66 , he ended his active ski jumping career in 1966.

After the end of his active career, Oman began working as a coach which he carried out until the late 1990s.
