Steeplejack Music is a German record label based in Lohmar , near Cologne. It was founded in 1996, but remained almost completely inactive until 2003.
The restart began in 2004 with the release of the Connemara Stone Company's album Birds & Beasts . Then in 2006 the Scot Craig Herbertson joined and in 2007 the label signed the folk duo Broom Bezzums . In 2008, the duo achieved 3rd place at the German Rock and Pop Prize as “Best Folk Rock Band”, as well as the German Record Critics' Prize in the 1-2016 list of the best.
The label is mainly active in the genres of folk, folk-rock, acoustic pop / rock and singer / songwriter.
