Stefan Bach

Stefan Bach (* 1964 ) is a German economist and tax expert . He has worked at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) since 1992 and has been a project manager since 1996 . He is the author of numerous works on tax policy and social policy in Germany.

Life

In 1983 Bach graduated from high school in Leverkusen. From 1985 to 1990 he studied economics at the University of Cologne , graduating with a degree in economics. From 1990 to 1992 he completed postgraduate studies in Cologne. In 1992, Bach received his doctorate in economics from the University of Cologne with the dissertation "The idea of ​​the cash flow tax against the background of the current tax system". In 2010 he completed his habilitation in economics at the University of Potsdam with the habilitation thesis: “Empirical Studies on Tax Distribution and Tax Reform in Germany”. Since 2011 he has been a private lecturer at the University of Potsdam. Since 1992 he has been a member of the DIW in Berlin, where from 2002 to 2011 he was the project manager for “Development and operation of microsimulation models for corporate taxation and income tax”. From 2004 to 2012 he was deputy head of the "State Department". Bach is a private lecturer at the University of Potsdam.
