Stefan Bachmann (born June 7, 1993 in Boulder , Colorado ) is a Swiss- US-American author . His debut novel Die Seltsamen (Original: The Peculiar ) was published in 2012.

Live and act

Bachmann was born in Colorado, but soon moved to Adliswil with his family . He was homeschooled by his American mother and four siblings through high school . Since the age of eleven he has been attending the Zurich Conservatory , where he studies organ and composition . His first novel was published when he was 19 years old and he writes his books in English .

Bachmann's first novel The Peculiar was praised in various international media, including in the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times . The TV station 3sat broadcast an episode with the author Stefan Bachmann on May 5, 2014 as part of the portrait series Berg und Geist .
