Stefan Bergmann (journalist, 1959)

Stefan Bergmann (born February 25, 1959 ) is a German journalist and historian. He has been editor-in-chief of the history magazine DAMALS since 2012 .

Live and act

Bergmann studied history, political science and Romance studies in Bonn and Münster from 1980 to 1986. From 1987 to 1990 he worked in the chronicle editorial team of Harenberg-Verlag / Dortmund (traineeship and one year as a lecturer). In the summer of 1990 he switched to the newspaper. Stations in local journalism were "Thüringer Tagespost" and " Thüringische Landeszeitung " (until 1992) as well as " Saarbrücker Zeitung " (until 1999). Afterwards he headed the politics department of the " Schwäbische Zeitung " for ten years . In 2009 he went to the House of History Baden-Württemberg / Stuttgart as head of press and public relations, before taking over the chief editor of DAMALS in June 2012.

A revised version of Bergmann's master’s thesis was published by Brasilienkunde-Verlag / Mettingen in 1996: “Brasiliens Grünhemden - Griff nach der Macht. Integralism: A Far Right Movement in the 1930s ”. Together with Holger Joel he wrote the "Chronicle 1954" (1989).
