Stefan Dreher (dancer)

Stefan Dreher (* 1966 ) is a German choreographer and dancer. He lives in Munich. Together with Inga Helfrich he created the dance theater productions Island , a dance theater performance (Brussels / Belgium, 2007) and Sharing Time (Muffathalle Munich, 2008).

Life

Dreher studied at the Folkwang School in Essen. He then worked on engagements with Joachim Schlömer and with many Belgian choreographers, filmmakers and visual artists. Stefan Dreher has been working with dancers, actors, writers and visual artists in Loving Lucy since 2002 . There he creates choreographies such as “yoyo” about the silence before turning back (2002), “Station to Station”, “Loving Lucy” about the impossibility of learning to dance (2003/04), “Angie”, an instant comedy in episodes ( 2005/06), "island" about perfect movement (2007) and A video for YouTube with Hans Theys, performances filmed by the audience (2007). In 2006/07 Stefan Dreher worked as an artiste associé in the Schaerbeek halls in Brussels. He is currently working as Artist in Residence at the Charleroi / Danses Choreographic Center in Belgium. In 2008 he created the productions “Superimposing” (February / Muffathalle, Munich) and “Except the dogs” - “Save all dogs” (premiered at the DANCE Festival 2008).
