Stefan Hammer

Stefan Hammer (* 1957 in Linz ) is an Austrian legal scholar, university professor and a personality of the Christian-Muslim dialogue.

Life

Hammer initially studied Arabic and law , in 1980 he graduated from the University of Vienna and then qualified as a professor . He has taught at the Institute for Constitutional and Administrative Law and since 2014 at the Institute for Legal Philosophy at the University of Vienna. He is a member of the Research Center “Religion and Transformation in Contemporary Society” at the University of Vienna.

In 2008 he was one of the Catholic delegation participants of the 2nd seminar of the Catholic-Muslim Forum . In 2014 he was accepted into the Brotherhood of Santa Maria dell'Anima ( Anima Brotherhood ) in Rome.
