Stefan Hofer (politician, 1975)

Stefan Hofer (born August 12, 1975 in Bern ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ).

Political activity

Stefan Hofer has been a member of the Bernese Cantonal Parliament (Grand Council) since 2016 and is a member of the Health and Social Commission (GSoK). In the same year Hofer was also elected to the city parliament (city council) of Bern, where he represents the SVP in the city's supervisory commission. He is a delegate of the Swiss People's Party of the Canton of Bern and a party leadership and board member of the SVP of the city of Bern. He is also president of the non-partisan referendum committee “No to the luxury tram Bern - Ostermundigen”, which came about and was just as narrowly rejected on March 4, 2018.

Private life

Hofer grew up in Bern, is married and has three children. He works as a professional pilot and entrepreneur.

As an entrepreneur, he made headlines several times. He had collected high rents from social welfare recipients and distanced himself from a bankrupt company that, according to the commercial register, was still registered at his home address.
