Stefan Kipf (* 1964 in Berlin ) is a German classical philologist and didactician .

After attending the Goethe-Gymnasium in Wilmersdorf and studying classical philology at the Free University of Berlin and Austin / USA from 1983 to 1990 as well as a legal clerkship from 1990 to 1992, Kipf was a research assistant at the Free University of Berlin from 1992 to 1997 Department of Didactics of Ancient Languages ​​and high school teachers. In 1997 he received his doctorate and research assistant at the Free University of Berlin. From 2004 to 2006 he was a student advisor in higher education and completed his habilitation in 2005. Since October 1, 2006, Kipf has been a university professorfor didactics of ancient languages ​​at the Humboldt University in Berlin . He is chairman of the Joint Commission for Teacher Training Studies , since 2008 Vice Dean for Studies and Teaching of the Philosophical Faculty II and since 2010 Director of the Humboldt Schools Society for Classical Studies. In 2011 he was appointed founding director of the Professional School of Education (PSE) at Humboldt University, of which he has been director since 2012. Kipf is also Professor of Ancient Languages ​​Didactics at the Free University of Berlin.

From February 2005 to February 2007 he was the deputy federal chairman of the German Classical Philology Association (DAV), from February 2007 to February 2011 he was federal chairman, since then he has been an advisor to the board and since 2014 first chairman of the DAV regional association Berlin-Brandenburg. Since 2010 he has been the project manager of the MigraMentor project , which supports student teachers with a migration background .

The main focus of Kipf's work is the history of ancient language teaching, educational theory, literary didactics, teaching media, curriculum and textbook development, teacher training as well as children's and youth literature on antiquity. Kipf is the responsible editor of the Pegasus online magazine and co-editor of the reading series ratio in Buchners -Verlag, Bamberg.
