Stefan Münz

Stefan Münz (born December 10, 1960 in Idar-Oberstein ) is a German computer scientist . He has been the author of the hypertext reference SELFHTML since 1995 and was chairman of the association of the same name until he left the project in January 2007.

Stefan Münz grew up in Landau in the Palatinate and studied philosophy and linguistics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . He then completed training as an organizational programmer for C and UNIX . He has been working as a freelance and book author since 1994.

In a trademark dispute with Günter Freiherr von Gravenreuth over the designation "Explorer" in 2000, Stefan Münz was supported by fans nationwide. The process was significant in the context of the legal clarification of link liability issues on websites.

Münz has two children and his wife brought four children into the marriage. He lives with his family in the Palatinate.

He was critical of the increasing monopoly on the Internet and regrets that individual users "leave their souls in the cloakroom on Facebook , Twitter or Google ."
